About Spectra

Advice that starts with what matters most

Money is important, but it has never been the goal.

At Spectra, financial advice begins by understanding the life you want to create. From there, we develop thoughtful strategies that help you make important decisions with clarity and confidence.

Why Spectra exists

A different kind of financial advice

Many people come looking for answers about investing, mortgages or KiwiSaver.

Often, those aren't the real questions.

The real questions are:

  • Can we afford to work less?

  • Should we buy this property?

  • What does retirement actually look like?

  • How do we make the most of this opportunity?

These are life decisions. Financial strategy is simply the tool that helps you make them well.

That's why Spectra exists.

Meet your adviser

Hi, I'm Piet

I've always enjoyed personal finance, but what I've found most rewarding is helping people navigate life's important decisions. Financial advice allows me to bring those two passions together.

Over the years, I've come to believe that the best financial advice doesn't begin with products or returns. It begins with understanding your goals, your priorities and the life you want to create.

That's the philosophy behind Spectra.

My background in commercial finance has shaped the way I think. It taught me to analyse complex situations, weigh trade-offs and make thoughtful decisions. Today, I apply those same skills to help individuals and families make informed financial decisions with confidence.

My role isn't to tell you what your life should look like.

It's to help you understand your options, navigate trade-offs and make decisions that align with what matters most.
